Chambers Ireland welcomes progress on Government Formation
Chambers Ireland today (15 June) welcomed progress in the formation of a new Government and the publication of a Programme for Government.
Speaking this afternoon, Chief Executive Ian Talbot said;
“The measures included in the new Programme will need to be assessed in greater detail but the focus on town centres, balanced regional development and infrastructure, particularly public transport and housing, is welcome.
These issues were the main priorities of our member chambers in the run up to the February election and continue to be our focus as we plan for the post Covid-19 recovery.
With the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and the increasingly likely prospect of a hard Brexit at the end of this year, it has never been more necessary that we have a Government in place with the ability to legislate and make critical decisions.
We look forward to a successful outcome of the approval processes now commenced.”
