Applications for the 2026 Excellence in Local Government Awards are now closed. The shortlist will be announced in August.

Applications open: Wednesday, 1st April at 10am
Submission deadline: Friday, 8th May at 12 noon
Submission extension: Friday, 22nd May at 12 noon
Awards Night: Thursday, 26th November 2026
Venue: Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport, Santry, Dublin 9

The Excellence in Local Government Awards are held in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. These awards showcase best practice in local government and recognise the skills, hard work, innovation and enthusiasm within local government that can often go unrecognised.
