QNHS Figures Welcome – Productivity Gains Must Emerge from Pay Discussions
Chambers Ireland has today (21/05/15) welcomed the latest results of the Quarterly National Household Survey which put the current rate of unemployment at 9.9%.
Speaking today, Ian Talbot, Chief Executive, Chambers Ireland said, “For the first time since 2008, the rate of unemployment has fallen below 10%. This is a remarkable achievement involving huge commitment from both public and private sectors. With the number of those in employment increasing, now is the time for Government to focus on ensuring the services and infrastructure are in place to support our recovering economy and that quantifiable productivity gains are an agreed outcome of ongoing public sector pay discussions.”
