Businesses Concern at Slowing Pace of US TTIP Negotiators
Chambers Ireland has today (21/11/14) expressed concern at the apparent waning enthusiasm of the United States for the TTIP negotiation process.
Speaking this afternoon, Ian Talbot, Chief Executive, Chambers Ireland said “A Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership holds tremendous potential for both the EU and the US at a time when the global economy needs not simply stimulus, but leadership. Negotiations of this magnitude require the full engagement and energies of both parties, and the apparent weakening engagement of the US negotiators is very concerning. We hope the negotiating teams stay focused, and as United States own Trade Representative Michael Froman said, ‘get this done on one tank of gas’”.
