Women Entrepreneurs called on to have their say on business in Europe

Women Entrepreneurs called on to have their say on business in Europe.

Chambers Ireland, in partnership with Eurochambres (the Association of European Chambers of Commerce), has launched a new European-wide survey on the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.

The last survey, conducted in 2021, captured data from 536 female-led businesses across Europe and focused specifically on the impact that Covid-19 was having on women in business. From an Irish perspective, the data showed that 57% of respondents found that remote working caused by pandemic restrictions made it more difficult to carry out caring and home duties.

Eurochambres are now carrying out a follow-up survey and are looking for women entrepreneurs from across Ireland to have their say and be counted within the European perspective.

Speaking today about the launch of the survey, Chambers Ireland President, Fiona Candon said:

“Although there are many challenges that women entrepreneurs face, there is still not much information available on what is needed at a European level. We are calling on women entrepreneurs and female-led business owners across the country to be counted.

It is only through representation and vocalisation of the specific obstacles and institutional barriers that women face in setting up and successfully running their own business that we can work together to find solutions and make entrepreneurship a more accessible option for all.

In replying to this survey, you will help us have a clearer picture of what still needs to be done to ensure that women entrepreneurs have the same opportunities and the same protection as their male counterparts.”

The survey is now open until the 19 February and can be completed by clicking the link – https://bit.ly/3I2TeFT
