Panel to Review Grid Link and Grid West Route Options Welcomed

Chambers Ireland has today (29/01/14) welcomed the announcement by Minister Rabbitte that he is to establish an expert panel to oversee the preparation of reports on underground route options for Grid Link and Grid West projects.

Speaking this morning, Seán Murphy, Chambers Ireland Deputy Chief Executive, said “These projects are of vital importance for Ireland in terms of securing future economic development, job creation and delivering electricity at a price that is cost competitive for both businesses and residential consumers. Progress on these projects would be most welcome and we hope that the panel’s deliberations will identify the best means possible to deliver this network upgrade. Ireland’s need for an efficient and cost effective energy infrastructure must also be taken into account in these deliberations.”
