Irish businesses recognised globally with strong competitiveness ranking
Chambers Ireland has welcomed the announcement that Ireland has ranked 2nd overall in the 2023 IMD World Competitive Rankings.
Speaking today (20th June 2023) after the results were released, Chambers Ireland’s Chief Executive, Ian Talbot, said:
“These results are a great indication of Ireland’s potential at a global level as a place in which to live, work and do business.
“The business community has had a huge role to play in this success and it is encouraging to see the country ranked third overall for business efficiency.
“Unfortunately, our infrastructure ranks much less favourably. Our long-term competitiveness depends upon us developing an infrastructure system that provides sufficient housing, quality transport links, robust energy networks and appropriate health and education services.
“Our continued growth and prosperity depends on Government prioritising the sustained development of our infrastructrure to make up for the deficit of the lost decade of investment, the increased demand of our rising population, and the challenges of the climate transition.”
