Exchequer Returns a Reminder to Contain the Cost of Employment
Chambers Ireland has today (04/12/12) called on Government to take note of the pressures on employers as it finalises its budget.
Speaking this afternoon, Ian Talbot, Chambers Ireland Chief Executive, said “While it is somewhat positive to see VAT figures performing well, the fact that targets for Corporation Tax and Income Tax from the self-employed are not being met should serve as a reminder to Government not to increase the cost of employment in Budget 2013.”
“This information can be seen as an indicator that the job creating sector of the economy is still struggling. More must be done to create an environment conducive to job creation,” he concluded.
