A native of Tralee, Co Kerry, John has been living in Kilkenny since 2001 where he is married with two children. He is a qualified Chartered Insurer (ACII) and also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA from the University of Limerick).

Over the past 35 years John has successfully held a variety of management roles including Underwriting, Risk Management, Sales and Business Development in the General Insurance industry. In line with his passion for professionalism and service excellence in business he is also a lecturer to Financial Service Industry professionals on a wide range of business modules.

A former Chairman of the Board of Management, KSP N.S. and a Chartered Toastmaster, he is a past President of the Rotary Club of Kilkenny and sits on a range of business representative groups and committees in the South East of Ireland.
