Shane holds two degrees – an LLM in European Economic Law from the University of Groningen and a BCL (International) from the University of Galway. He also studied Legal German as part of his studies, which included a year abroad at the University of Leipzig.
Having worked and studied in numerous European cities, Shane has a sincere interest in European affairs. While in Hamburg, he interned at financial services firm finleap connect. He also has experience in human rights and previously interned at the Global Legal Action Network, where he contributed to the prosecution of war crimes in Yemen. He writes on occasion, and his interest in food and law is best captured by his article on gene editing, which was published by Cambridge University Press. Shane also volunteers with charities when he can, and he has a particular interest in sustainable housing and community-based development.
