Regional Focus of Action Plan for Jobs Welcome Step

Chambers Ireland has welcomed today’s (11/02/15) Action Plan for Jobs – Regional as a step in the right direction.

Speaking this afternoon, Mark O’Mahoney, Director of Policy and Communications, Chambers Ireland said “With a network of Chambers across the country, it is clear to see that our recovery has not reached all areas and sectors and this is something which we have been advocating for the Government to act on for some time. The success of this strategy, while aimed specifically at investing in and developing our regions, is key to our overall recovery.”

“This strategy has the potential to not only create much needed jobs in the regions but also to revive our town centres which have suffered greatly in recent years. We urge those tasked with delivering these plans to work with the affiliated Chambers in each region who have expert knowledge of the issues facing local businesses,” he concluded.
