Press Release regarding the proposed Small-Scale Generation Support Scheme
Chambers Ireland welcomes the proposed Small-Scale Generation Support Scheme
Chambers Ireland is very supportive of the proposal to introduce a Small-Scale Generation Support Scheme (SSG) in Ireland in 2023.
As a strong supporter of the Sustainable Development Goals, Chambers Ireland strongly advocates for the generation of renewable energy to aid the transition to a net-zero economy. The development of schemes like the SSG needs to be accelerated and its widescale establishment must be facilitated if Ireland is to meet its climate targets.
Energy security has rarely been more topical and sourcing our fuels from countries that are politically unstable imports political risks into our economy. The proposed scheme is a welcome step towards creating a resilient energy supply that can sustain economic, political, and environmental shocks.
