Affordable Childcare is Positive for Families and Business
Commenting on the launch of the Government’s ‘It Starts Now’ campaign, Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland said, “The implementation in coming weeks of the childcare provision announced by Government in Budget 2017 will be welcomed by families across Ireland. The cost of childcare is a significant cost of living for many parents and more affordable childcare will have positive implications for families and businesses.”
“We call on Government to continue to invest in childcare services in Budget 2018 and make increased funding available for childcare services and afterschool care. By ensuring affordable access to quality childcare services we can reduce living costs for families, enhance female labour market participation, increase the wellbeing of children, address the gender-pay gap, and increase Government revenues with a higher rate of labour force participation.”
