Chamber Promotes Wexford to National Retailers
Tomorrow, Wexford Chamber will exhibit at the Completely Retail and Leisure Marketplace Expo in Dublin Castle, with a view to attracting national retailers to locate in Wexford town.
As one of the prime retail events in Ireland, it will bring together leading retail and leisure brands, to examine the opportunities which exist within the Irish marketplace.
Wexford Chamber’s involvement in this year’s expo, is part of a targeted effort to raise Wexford’s profile with national retailers. A comprehensive retail investor prospectus, which presents a compelling business case for locating stores in the town, will also be distributed on the day.
Speaking about the organisation’s participation, Karl Fitzpatrick, President of Wexford Chamber, said “Wexford has already proved to be a successful location for 18 national and international retailers, but an event of this scale provides us with a unique opportunity to network with other large brands and to put Wexford firmly in their minds”. “If new retailers choose to locate in the town, it will not only reduce the number of vacant commercial properties on our main street, but ultimately, it would create much needed jobs for local people” added Mr. Fitzpatrick.
Wexford Chamber, which has received financial support from Wexford County Council to exhibit at the Completely Retail and Leisure Marketplace expo and will be the only business organisation with a presence on the day, which should prove to be advantageous when promoting the town to attendees.
The CEO of Wexford Chamber, Madeleine Quirke, also confirmed that this national expo, is just one of a series of actions that the organisation has planned for increasing retail activity in the town. “In addition to putting Wexford to the fore on a national level, we need to equip our existing retailers with the resources to adapt to the changing landscape of retail. With that in mind, we will be providing local shop owners with practical based workshops that will enable them to benefit from omni-channel retailing”.
